Last Updated: September 1, 2015

This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is collected, used and disclosed by Screen when you use our mobile application.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact a single person. You may be asked to provide your personal information anytime you create a new profile with Screen. Screen will neither collect nor share this personal information. Upon deletion of profile or the application itself, the data will be erased and can not be recovered.

What personal information we collect

When you create a new profile with Screen we collect a variety of information, including profile name, birthdate, gender, tobacco use status, sexual activity status, and pregnancy status.

Upon the creation of a new profile, the recommended screening measures are generated via recommendations created by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). We collect data that you indicated if you have ever received that particular screen and the year the screen was performed, whether the user is interested in discussing the screen further, or if the user is not interested in the screen at all.

How we use your personal information

The data collected is used to determine which of the USPSTF recommendations apply to the particular profile created. The personal information we collect is stored locally on your iPhone. We do not transmit any data to any external server for any secondary use. No data that could identify the iPhone is stored.

Data entered within the Screen app is not encrypted. Creating a PIN to access the app serves as a deterrent for others wishing to gain access to your inputted information. Use of PIN would not prevent others from obtaining your information through other means.

Privacy Questions

If you have any questions or concerns about Screen’s privacy policy, please contact us at http://www.screenapp.co

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. When we change the policy in a material way, a notice will be posted on our website along with the updated privacy policy.

Screen

Ever wonder if you are doing your part to be up to date on your health? What about whether mom, grandpa, or any loved one are receiving all the screening needed to catch treatable disease early?

Screen attempts to help people understand why they should regularly see a health-care provider by identifying screening tests users and their loved ones may need. It does this by translating USPSTF guidelines into language non-doctors can understand. Many of the diseases in the guidelines are completely treatable if caught early. By empowering patients, Screen hopes to stimulate a fruitful relationship with a health-care provider and help begin the journey towards better health, for everyone.

2.

How it works

Create a profile for yourself or any loved one by answering a few questions (data is not sold or collected). The app will identify which screening services are recommended. Recommendations that are “strongly recommended”, Grade A, or simply recommended, Grade B, will appear. Grade C rec’s have no recommendation, Grade D rec’s are “Not Recommended” and Grade I have insufficient evidence to make a recommendation either way.

This app focuses on Grade A and B recommendations. Keep track of what you’ve done and what's coming up in the next few years. The journey towards ensuring you are doing your part to prevent diseases that can be treated if caught early is attainable.

USPSTF Information

The United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is an independent panel of non-Federal experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine and is composed of primary care providers (such as internists, pediatricians, family physicians, gynecologists / obstetricians, nurses, and health behavior specialists). The USPSTF conducts scientific evidence reviews of a broad range of clinical preventive health care services (such as screening, counseling, and preventive medications) and develops recommendations for primary care clinicians and health systems.
